About the Course

What your child will experience each week

A structured and supportive program designed to help young performers grow their confidence, creativity and on-camera skills.

Across the 8-week term, children take part in guided activities that balance imagination, play and practical screen acting techniques. Each class is energetic and engaging, with plenty of chances to move, speak, react and create.

They learn how to listen, respond and work as part of a team, all while discovering how to bring characters and stories to life.

  • Imagination and warm-up games that help students relax and feel comfortable.
  • Simple script and scene work where they learn to take direction and remember cues.
  • Character building activities that encourage creative thinking and storytelling.
  • On-camera exercises so they can see themselves on screen and understand how filming works.
  • Confidence and communication practice that supports speaking clearly and standing tall.
  • Teamwork and respect so every child feels included and supported by the group.

Frequently asked questions

Do children need experience to join?

Not at all! No prior acting experience is required. Our youth programs are designed to welcome complete beginners through to more experienced performers. We focus on building confidence, creativity and foundational screen skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. Every child is guided at their own pace.

What should my child wear and bring?

Children should wear comfortable, neutral clothing that allows them to move freely (no logos or distracting patterns). Closed-in shoes are recommended. Please bring a water bottle and, if advised for specific classes, a printed script or notebook. Everything else is provided by AAM.

What if my child is shy?

Shy children are very welcome. In fact, many of our most confident performers started out quietly!  Our experienced teachers are highly skilled in working gently with shy students, helping them build confidence in a safe, non-pressured and positive environment. We never force participation and always nurture each child’s comfort level and individual personality.

Can we join mid-year?

Yes, absolutely!  Anyone can join at any time depending on availability and class levels. We assess students individually to ensure they are placed in the most suitable group for their age and experience. Please contact us and our team will be happy to advise on current intake options.

Can this lead to professional acting opportunities?

Yes absolutely! Many of our youth students go on to audition for professional TV, film, commercial and theatre productions, and a number secure professional representation through AAM. While our focus is always on training, confidence and skill development, we actively submit suitable students for real industry opportunities when they are ready.

Can parents stay and watch?

To help students build independence and confidence, classes are drop-off only once children have settled in. However, parents are always welcome to attend special viewing weeks, filming nights, showcases or presentations throughout the year where they can see their child’s progress and performances.

Do you offer trial classes?

We do not offer one-off trial classes. However, we highly recommend enrolling in one of our 2-day holiday workshops, which are specifically designed to give your child a fantastic insight into what to expect in our structured term courses. These workshops are fun, confidence-building, and a great way for students to experience our teaching style and studio environment before committing to a full term.
