Frequently asked questions
Do I need experience to join?
No prior experience is required. Our adult courses cater to complete beginners through to experienced performers. Whether you are stepping into acting for the first time or returning after a break, our programs are structured to meet you where you’re at and support your growth at a comfortable pace.
Can I jump into Entry Level or Advanced?
Yes. Placement into Entry Level or Advanced levels is based on prior training, experience and confidence level. We may request a brief chat or viewing of prior work to ensure you are placed where you will benefit the most. Our goal is always to set you up for success, not overwhelm.
Can I join mid-year?
Yes, absolutely! Adult students may join at any time throughout the year, subject to availability and course level. Each student is assessed individually to ensure placement in the most suitable class based on experience and confidence level. Please contact our team and we’ll be happy to advise on current intake options and suitable starting points.
Is the training suitable for shy adults?
Absolutely. Many of our adult students begin feeling nervous or unsure and that’s completely normal. Our teachers create a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment where confidence builds naturally over time. You’ll never be pushed beyond your comfort level, but you will be gently encouraged to grow.
Will this help with confidence and communication outside acting?
Yes very much so. Beyond performance skills, our training helps develop confidence, self-awareness, communication, public speaking, emotional intelligence and presence. Many students find the benefits extend into their professional, personal and social lives.
Can this lead to professional work?
Yes absolutely! Many of our adult students go on to pursue professional auditions, representation and paid industry work across TV, film, commercial and theatre. While our focus is always on training and craft, suitable students are regularly submitted for real industry opportunities through AAM when ready.
Do you offer trial classes?
We do not offer one-off trial classes. Instead, we recommend enrolling in our 4-Week Intro to Screen Acting Course, which is specifically designed to give adults a thorough and supportive introduction to our training style. This course provides a clear insight into what to expect from our term-based programs and is the ideal starting point for beginners or those returning to acting after a break.
